Structural wall and floor problems created from pyritic soils required remediation and reconstruction in and around the cafeteria, kitchen and band corridor.

The scope of work included the following:

• Controlled demolition of areas of the kitchen, cafeteria and hallway, including asbestos abatement.
• Over-excavation and installation of a seal slab over a crawl space using mini-pile foundations.
• Removal of the pyritic soils.
• Update the finishes and environmental systems in the kitchen, cafeteria and hallway.
• Install new food service equipment.
